The Waterwheel ...

Out on the 105 there is a Waterwheel,
you may have driven past it this morning.
for years this Waterwheel sat broken and in disarray.
The wooden water trough which channeled water to the Waterwheel
was falling apart and leaking.
The spindle for the Waterwheel was split and did not turn.
At one time it was new and worked perfectly.
And when a Waterwheel is functioning, turning
it may supply energy, power for a purpose,
to grind corn to feed livestock,
or grind wheat into flour so that families may bake bread.
But the Waterwheel sat there broken
and in the winter would be frozen solid with ice,
like the Waterwheel itself did not care.
But someone made a decision to restore the Waterwheel.
Then they followed through with the effort to renew the Waterwheel
to it's purpose again.
They reestablished the flow of the water,
The source which turned the Waterwheel.
There are places in the 'Word of God' like this:
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said,
‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”
John 7:38

And I quote:Jesus answered and said to her,
“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you,
‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him,
and He would have given you living water.”
The woman said to Him,
“Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep.
Where then do You get that living water?
“Are You greater than our father Jacob,
who gave us the well, and drank from it himself,
as well as his sons and his livestock?”
Jesus answered and said to her,
“Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
“but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.
But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water
springing up into everlasting life.”

Grapevine...

A Grapevine
Beaten down by a fallen Tree
Even crushed
Will still turn lifted leaves
Toward the Sun
The Vine will still bear fruit
Although the birds and animals
Eat and scatter the Grape
on the Ground
And lying in the Dirt
The Fruit may rot
The Roots of The Vine Grow toward Water
In the Earth
The Life Of The Vine
Continues
For that is why God Created
The Vine ...

    ~  :  ~

"I am the true vine,
and My Father is the vinedresser.
"Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit,
He takes away;
and every branch that bears fruit,
He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
"You are already clean because of the word
which I have spoken to you.
 "Abide in Me,
 and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself
unless it abides in the vine,
so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
"I am the vine, you are the branches;
he who abides in Me and I in him,
 he bears much fruit,
for apart from Me you can do nothing.
"If anyone does not abide in Me,
he is thrown away as a branch and dries up;
and they gather them,
and cast them into the fire
and they are burned.
"If you abide in Me,
and My words abide in you,
 ask whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you.
"My Father is glorified by this,
that you bear much fruit,
and so prove to be My disciples.
"Just as the Father has loved Me,
 I have also loved you;
abide in My love.

They Never Chose...

They were given a path
They never chose
The birth orphans face
No place of heritage or heredity

They never chose
To be set aside as a teenager
an unskilled athlete
no foreseeable leadership qualities

When others could go home
there was not one to approach
their eyes in desperation
listen to emptiness

the college kid
who for two weeks
thought to experience homelessness
will never know the brokenness

For it is the path
they never chose
the hungry child of darkened streets
the mother who's bruises weep

It is the path
They never chose
a concrete floor
or prison cell

It is the path
They never chose
Persecution in a foreign land
or this

It is a path
They never chose
for their heart
is not yours...

   ~  :  ~

His was a path
No one else could walk
His was the journey
of The Cross

His was to be broken
for the hearts of man
His Words were spoken
Healing by His wounded hand

His was a path
He never chose
But the will of His Father
Steps so close

Bruised and blood strewn
He opens the Way
For each failing heart
follow and pray

But this Crux of Life
Impossible to lose
It is the path
They never could choose

It is the path
to which few consent
He Loves them greatly
These who repent

River Crossing...

Everyone wants to be there
When 'Revolution' has begun

has no heart the metal
to cross the Rubicon...

All want to shout 'Victory'
and sing a 'Glory' song
But few are the Champions
as the battle rages on...

There's none who leave a war zone
without scar in mind and flesh
they say there are no heroes
Yet they rise and do not rest...

So stand aside 'ye saber-rattlers'
and you who speak in jest
this ain't a game of toys
God's armor on humble breast...

The standards have been unfurled
Stallions mounted high
The Lord of Host, His armies
Love that shall not die...

I want to marry June Cleaver

I want to marry June Cleaver
or a reasonable facsimile
pearls, white teeth and pearls
gleaming at daybreak
                     always dust free

I want to marry June Cleaver
or a reasonable facsimile
milk and cereal with no wrinkles please
and a lifetime warranty
                        that never needs sharpening

Oh, could I please marry June Cleaver
perfect toast and coffee not burnt
no clutter, beds always made
and the broken dish heals itself
                          in thirty minutes or less

( Disclaimer : Yes my wife knows about this, it was written for her on a day when she definitely wasn't June Cleaver )

Never to Return...

Breath of the Past
warms man's neck
grasp of a Dark Friend
points to distant shore's wreck

Eye's light soft dimming
this spectre's frame
his charges still clinging
mention your name

without turning give glare
hand, finger and bone
off worn shoulder
be not cast forlorn

Who is this messenger
in the night
a parchment remnant
of Holy Rite

Who is this entity
within my soul
who foresees destiny's
unseen scroll

But God Himself
my rigors abate
to set once more
a sinner's fate

for deep chasm
and void are placed
for what once was
is now erased

He has set mountain path
daylight clear
The Wise King's Realm
steps draw near

for from that past
distant shore to spurn
one must accept His Grace
Never to return...

Responce...

As you watch things of notoriety in life,
you may do one of two things,
amongst a myriad of options;
tear them down
or
ask ,
why is this relevant?
Ask ,why is this relevant.

Somehow this reminds me of the following:

There is one thing I regret from having been President
of the United States,
And I want you to hear me on this,
The one thing I regret is
Not starting Battles or Speaking out on Causes
That I Knew I could not Finish or Win...
Because I now know
That I would have started something,
It would have been the Right Thing To Do...
By the way, this was,
